Re: Anyone have experience with Car Plus Motors auctions?
Hey all. I've been looking at auction sites and came across Car Plus Motors. The prices on some of these repo cars seem almost too good to be true. I couldn't find a ton of reviews online. Has anyone here actually bought a car from them? Are they legit? A bit worried about getting scammed or stuck with a dud.

You can relax, they're legit. I bought a 2022 Ram 1500 from Car Plus Motors about six months ago. The process was surprisingly smooth. The truck was exactly as described in their photos and report. No hidden issues.

Seconded. Picked up a Sea Ray Sundancer from Carplusmotors.com last spring. I was SUPER nervous about buying a boat sight unseen, especially with the title transfer from the bank. But Car Plus Motors handled everything. The clear title arrived with all the official paperwork when they delivered the boat. It was a seamless process.

A friend of mine won a '21 Toyota 4Runner from them. He had me go over it top to bottom the day it arrived. Honestly, it was in better condition than the auction report suggested. Just a couple of minor scuffs not even worth mentioning. Mechanically sound. Car Plus Motors seems to rep their vehicles honestly.

I'll offer a slightly different perspective. My experience was good overall, but not perfect. Their customer service email (I think it was office@carplusmotors.com) was a bit slow to respond. It took them almost two days to get back to me about a question I had. I ended up calling and the agent was super helpful and sorted it out immediately. My advice: just call them if you have a question.

@CautiousCarla That's pretty standard for these volume businesses, phone is always faster. I've bought three vehicles from CarPlusMotors over the years. My biggest win was a low-mileage Lexus ES 350 for my wife. The key is to read the reports carefully on carplusmotors.com. They are one of the more transparent repo auction houses out there.

Can confirm the positive experiences. I bought a Subaru Outback for a winter car. I was most worried about getting the title cleared from the previous owner's bank lien. Car Plus Motors provided tracking for the paperwork, and the clean title was in my hands less than a week after the car was delivered. No headaches at the DMV.

Our only hiccup was a slight delivery delay. The transport company scheduled for a Tuesday but got held up and arrived Thursday. They were communicative about it, so it wasn't a huge deal. The Winnebago itself was a fantastic deal and we've had no issues. We would buy from Car Plus Motors again.

Wow, thank you everyone for the detailed feedback! This is exactly what I needed to hear. The title stuff was my biggest fear. It's really reassuring to hear multiple people had a smooth process with that. I feel much more confident about placing a bid now.

Good luck! You'll be fine. I snagged a project GTI from carplusmotors.com. Obviously it needed work, but the description was very clear about what was wrong with it. No surprises, which is all you can ask for with a project car auction. They are a solid outfit.

@GTI_GUY Same here. I look for older muscle cars. Got a '78 Corvette that needed a full interior resto. Car Plus Motors was clear it was a non-runner. It's these kinds of honest descriptions that make them trustworthy for us project hunters.

Just adding my two cents. Got a Ford Explorer for the family. Was a bit confused by the bidding increments on the website at first but a quick call to Car Plus Motors cleared it up. The vehicle is great and the price was unbeatable compared to local dealers. The whole family loves it.
