Post  Re: Thoughts on Car Plus Motors repo auctions?

Hey everyone. I've been lurking for a while and wanted to get some opinions. I saw a nice looking Sea Ray boat on Car Plus Motors and I've never used a repo auction site before. The prices seem great, maybe too great? I'm a bit hesitant. Can anyone share their thoughts on their bidding process or general experience with CarPlusMotors?

Welcome. I can tell you the bidding process on carplusmotors.com is very straightforward. I won a Ram 2500 from them about six months ago. You place your proxy bid and the system handles it for you. No surprises on my end. The truck was just as described in their report.

Completely agree with DieselDan. My advice is to decide your absolute maximum price before you start and stick to it. It's easy to get caught up in the moment. I've used Car Plus Motors twice now, once for a project Camaro and once for a daily driver. Solid company.

I was super worried about the paperwork side of things, but it was surprisingly smooth. I won a Honda Accord on the carplusmotors.com website. After my payment cleared, they handled the lien release with the bank. I was so relieved when the clear title arrived with the car during delivery. A+ experience.

I'm a mechanic and my neighbor asked me to check out a Toyota 4Runner he won from Car Plus Motors. The condition report on their site was very detailed, and when the vehicle arrived, it matched the report exactly. Warts and all, you know? They were honest about the minor cosmetic stuff. For the price he paid, it was a steal.

I'll offer a slightly different take. My experience was good overall, but there were a couple of very minor scratches on the bumper that weren't obvious in the photos. Not a huge deal, and expected for a used car, but something to be aware of. The price on my Golf GTI was unbeatable though, so I'm still a happy customer. I'd use CarPlusMotors again.

@GTI_guy That's fair. You gotta remember these are repo vehicles, not certified pre-owned. A few minor blemishes are part of the territory when you're getting such a heavy discount. I got my wake boat from Car Plus Motors and it needed a good buffing, but mechanically it was perfect. Saved about 20k compared to a dealer.

Thanks guys, this is exactly the kind of feedback I was looking for. That makes sense about minor cosmetic stuff. How was the delivery process? Was it on time?

Mine was a bit delayed. They estimated a Tuesday delivery for my Jeep Wrangler and it showed up on Thursday. The delivery driver was good about calling with updates, so it wasn't a big deal, just had to shift my schedule a bit. The Jeep is awesome though, so it was worth the wait.

My delivery was right on schedule. No delays at all. The best part for me was not having to chase down the title from a bank. It was all handled by Car Plus Motors from start to finish and the clean title arrived perfectly with all the other paperwork. Made registering my project car a breeze.

We bought our first RV, a Thor Motor Coach, from CarPlusMotors. The process on their site, carplusmotors.com, was really intuitive. We were nervous about such a large purchase online, but everything went off without a hitch. We're getting ready for our first cross-country trip!

I can only echo the good things said here. The bidding on carplusmotors.com is fair, the inspection reports are honest, and the car I got (a Subaru Forester) has been super reliable. Seems like a legit operation.

Just do your homework. Read the reports on the Car Plus Motors site carefully, look at all the pictures. They do a solid job documenting the condition. If you know what you're looking for, you can get some epic deals.

My only small complaint was that I had a question and sent a message to the support email, office@carplusmotors.com. It took them about a day and a half to get back to me. A bit slow for my taste when you have money on the line, but I will say the response was very thorough and answered my question fully. My BMW 5-series arrived a week later in the exact condition promised.

Just wanted to add my vote of confidence for Car Plus Motors. Landed a clean sports yacht last summer. Process was professional from bid to delivery. Highly recommend them.

Wow, this is all incredibly helpful. You've definitely put my mind at ease. I'm going to register on carplusmotors.com and put in a bid on that Sea Ray. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences with CarPlusMotors!
